Travel Stop: Cocoa Beach

Florida is full of amazing beach stops, when we are in town we try to hop around to different beaches in search of the best.

Cocoa Beach was our beach choice of the week. It’s a pretty touristy beach but we of course had a great time. We started out the trip at Coconuts Bar and Grill. It’s a pretty famous little spot for beach goers.

It has the perfect view of the ocean too. We started out with bacon wrapped scallops, which were fantastic. Then each had different wraps as a meal, I topped mine off with a strawberry daiquiri. And you really can’t beat a strawberry daiquiri on the beach.

Note: Cocoa beach is one of the few beaches in Florida that you can bring alcohol onto.

We made our way onto the beach from here and spent hours floating the waves like children. No seriously. We probably looked like children body-riding the waves into shore. It was quite the workout. Oh, to be young again.

After a small rest from being beaten up by the waves. We made our way down to the Cocoa Beach Pier. It is home to 5 restaurants and bars and a few shops. Right when you walk in there’s a little hot dog stand that is crazy cheap.

We are noting it for next time because cheap beach food is hard to find. At the end of the pier is a fishing spot and you can pay $7 to fish for the day or $2 to walk out to the end of the boardwalk. We opted out and just walked under the Boardwalk for free.

It was a pretty fun beach stop, not my favorite beach in all of Florida, but a fun stop for the day. I would recommend this to be a trip with a group of friends not really a relaxation spot or romance spot.

Cocoa beach offers a great time for all types of beach goers, so go have some fun, whether it’s drinking on the beach, surfing, or spiking a ball in someone’s face!
