Travel Stop: Siesta Key Beach

We’ve made it to another Florida beach that we absolutely loved!

Travel saving tip: Saving up for a big trip but still want all of those travel vibes? Make sure to take some small adventures in your own backyard while you’re waiting!

You’ll be amazed at all of the beauty that is nearby you. And it helps to feed that thirst for adventure short term.

So what was our most recent stop? Siesta Key Beach, Florida.

This beach was voted the #1 beach in the USA, and for good reason. We only made this a day trip and stopped by to watch the Tampa Bay Rays play the Yankees, but it was still a great getaway!

First of all I have to say I have never seen such a GINORMOUS beach area!!! It was so awesome. The possibilities for a fantastic beach day are endless. Bring a lunch for the day or a volleyball net or your sandcastle building tools… if your skills are as good as ours:

Next let’s talk about the water. I usually am not too impressed with the ocean colors of Florida (except in the Keys) but here, it was like tie-die ocean currents. I loved floating my way through the different shades of blue and green.

The sand here is a different texture than any of the other beaches, it is sooooo soft between your toes. So soft that you don’t even have to worry about it getting hot! Barefoot all day, my favorite.

If you head to the main beach entrance, they are redoing all of the structures outside of the entrance so theres a few vendors (snow cones and daiquiris, YUM).

I think since the beach was so big it made it feel a lot less “touristy,” everyone was super friendly too! We made a couple of friends while we were building our sand turtle!

Nothing like a great beach day!

Also right in this area are Crescent Beach, Turtle Beach and Point of Rocks; if you have time, stop by all of these beautiful sites.

Unfortunately, on our way out we hit this:

So we missed out on the quaint little beach side restaurants.
Stay tuned, I’m sure we will be back!
