Planning essentials!

Traveling out of your comfort zone can bring with it many surprises! Check out some of our travel tips for before you go!

  1. Organization is key!
  2. Make a list of activities you want to do, it doesn’t have to be a step-by-step itinerary but at least have some guidelines. You don’t know how overwhelming it is going to be once you arrive somewhere new and you will want to do it all!!! So look before have a few picked out, it’ll be a time saver
  3. Check out the monetary unit used there along with international usage fees on your cards.
  4. You may also want to check out your health insurance plan and how or if it is going to work in other countries.
  5. Anyone not have a cell phone now? Check out international rates or plans if it’s even possible.
  6. Keep all of your important documents close by, together and never let them out of your sight. If your hotel has a safe, use it for your passport/ID anything such as these.
  7. Take a look at the transportation options before you go, this will probably not only save you some money but also will ensure you are not stranded!
  8. Look at the amenities your hotel is offering if you are staying in a hotel, this is important with items like hair dryers or larger items that are going to take up space in your luggage.
  9. Make yourself a packing list; chances are you are forgetting something. May as well figure this out before you leave!
  10. Speaking of luggage put some essentials in your carry on. Sometimes luggage gets lost…. And it’s not fun to stay somewhere a couple nights without a tooth brush or a change of underwear J
  11. Make sure someone knows where you’re going and if you decide to change up cities. The thrill of “just going” is fun but it’s important that someone can locate you if they haven’t heard from you.
  12. All-inclusive is fun, but don’t focus on that! We saved over $500 on our last trip by picking a hotel that was not all-inclusive. That is beyond enough for food for us.
  13. Immerse yourself. Find activities that are going to teach you about the culture; look for national festivals or parades that are happening while you are there or even what locals do for fun.
  14. Safety is so important! Look up some tips for the area you are in or if there are any spots you should not go. When you get there, be aware and observant.
