A Life Of Indefinite Travel
That word – indefinite – it scares a lot of people. Unknown, without a plan, that’s not how we’re “supposed to” do life… right?!
We’re here to help you redefine that story.
I know this is supposed to be about us, but we thing is, we didn’t start this for us.
We started this for you.
We’ve tried a little bit of it all — full time travel, backpacking, luxury travel, short vacations, long journeys, and everything in between. We’ve tried copy cat methods, following exact footsteps of someone else’s travel life, and are here to tell you – nothing is the perfect fit except for the purposeful life that you design.
Spoiler alert: You won’t find any secret formulas to a travel life here… If there is one thing we’ve learned over these past 4 years of travel, it’s that: The travel life is not one size fits all.
We are taking this journey one step at a time and sharing along the way. It’s been messy, it’s been full of surprises, mapping out this life of travel has truly been the biggest adventure of them all.
We do love a good story, though, so…
Andrew and I [Megan, here] met in freshman year biology class. Fast forward four years and a lot of “random” bump in’s later and our love story began. We dated long distance for a year and fell in love with discovering the depths of here and there and places in between. We knew two things: we didn’t want the adventures to end + defining our own happiness was a non-negotiable.
We got to work crafting plans and creating spreadsheets. Our number one priority was designing a life that gave us freedom to travel the world. We were busy making the [perfect] travel plan when Andrew got the call into his boss’ office that no one wants to get. He was being let go, right in the middle of our travel savings plan.
In that moment we had two options: Andrew finds a new job and commits more of his time away from his dream OR build what we had been dreaming of all along…
I think you know which option we went with.
Navigating the next step took a lot of work, more than most people think.
A travel lifestyle is not a life with no work, it’s a life balanced out with a lot of play. We built up this blog from passion but without a plan, discovering how this would create a sustainable lifestyle was the hardest part of this journey.
For us this indefinite travel lifestyle looked like building a business [or two] online so that we could bring work on the road with us, allowing ultimate freedom.
I fell in love with the inner work that people experience on a journey to designing a life on purpose and became a certified, international life coach. Taking my clients around the globe with me using Zoom + Voxer… isn’t technology so cool?!
Andrew became master at all things tech and became obsessed with making an impact. He’s mentored over 1000 students to build impactful online businesses.
And together we pour so much soul into this blog, our YouTube channel [and a podcast coming soon] with one mission: to inspire you to design your life of impact + purpose.
To discover what “IT” is for you?
What drives you forward?
What lights you up?
What’s the one thing you know you must do in this one life you get to live out?
It may look similar to ours, it may look completely different, but there is one common theme for sure: you will be wildly happy.
The question we get asked the most…
The simple answer: we make travel a priority.
The logical answer: we built online businesses, with actual business plans and income goals. We make full time income working our businesses… working being the key word. We travel hard and work hard. We also became masters at hacking credit card points so we can fly “free.”
The ways to make travel a lifestyle nowadays are endless! That’s why we write about it right here on our blog!
Scotland, 100% Scotland felt like home to both of us, we are wildly obsessed.
But I’d say a close second favorite destination as a whole was Hawaii.
Besides designing this life we are obsessed with… Andrew would say getting dive certified in The Maldives or maybe sky diving over Hawaii. Megan would say; trekking the jungle with elephants in Thailand.
This is tricky, because everywhere we haven’t been. But the fun answer would be: Antartica. Megan has a thing for penguins and Andrew has a thing for doing anything unique.
Actually… Andrew might say outer space would be hist fun answer!
Happy exploring!
