Ugh. I’m like way to active for snow days! I’m sitting here, snowed in; most people would be like celebrating a lazy Monday. Personally I feel trapped (now we know why I want to travel). My boyfriend just left yesterday and my roommate is not home, lonely snow day. Anyways I guess I will make the most out of this snow day.
Here’s some stuck in the house tips for the too-active-to sit-still people like me:
I start the day by grabbing the camera and going on a little walk. Of course I needed about eight layers so that my nose didn’t fall off. And I’m sure people were like what’s up with the ONE person outside right now. I literally didn’t see anyone else out in the ghost town. Personally I loved it! I was freaking freezing but it was so peaceful in my icy abyss. Collected some swirling thoughts and got these killer pictures:
Step two: Find food…. I just realized I have to eat. My pantry consists of organic Cheerios (not even the good stuff), brown rice, and I think I have one cheese stick in my fridge. A walk to Kroger may be in the works today. If not I’ll let you know what kind of weird recipe I come up with.
Catching up on my journaling. Ugh I hate technology. I know it’s a crazy thing to say when we have a blog and I love our blog and I love connecting to all of you. But I really just wish there was a way you could all just read my journal. I love writing. I love jotting down the inner works of my mind. Andrew had to go to work today so he sent me his post to put up… My computer froze twice and every single picture refused to download. AHHHH frustration. But anyway, it worked and I feel better now. If you ever run into me though and want to read through my journal, I’d be thrilled to share. (I really do love technology, I’m a digital freak but the frustrations get the best of us)
I know we have all heard of spring-cleaning, but who really wants to spend a gorgeous spring day inside? Enter: Winter Snow Day Cleaning! When I want to be I’m a pretty OCD organized freak. So I spent a few hours scrubbing the walls of my bathroom and throwing out junk that I really don’t need.
Pinning. Pinterest: the modern way to realize you has wasted a complete hour daydreaming. No I seriously just read the most awesome article about how to optimize your Pinterest board and I did some serious clean up to our board today. My mind feels more at ease now. (If you wanna check out that article: Pinterest post I for sure recommend it)
Another nerd activity of mine good for indoor days: Crafting Crafting Crafting! I’m such a girl. I love making things and COLLAGING, it fills my soul with joy. And I’m sure sooner or later Andrew’s going to be like omg she’s made me another hand made sentimental item, how do I conceal the fake smile. But for now I’ll take his love and kisses when I hand him something that little does he know took me an hour + to make. Any-who I broke open the craft box and the photo boxes and made some masterpieces. Such a fun way to keep memories of any journey.
What are your favorite stuck inside, yucky snow day activities?
Addendum… I’m on snow day number two now. Ugh. Mexico can’t come soon enough. But for now I’ll smile through the snow…
