“A day without laughter is a day wasted” – Charlie Chaplin
It’s easy for most people to get stressed during this time of year. The holidays recently came to an end, so people are still recovering financially, new years resolutions are already floundering, and for the northerners, you’re battling blizzards or “nor’easters”.
I was having a rough couple days in a row while i was trying to adjust being back to work after our Key West adventure and saying bye to my girlfriend, knowing I wouldn’t see her for at least three weeks. As I was trying to focus on all my worries, I looked down at a text from Megan and immediately began to laugh out loud. Of course my coworkers were staring at my like i belonged in an insane asylum, since i was standing by myself, laughing hysterically, but who cares, at that moment i had been snapped out my ‘funk’.
Sometimes all you need to do is laugh a little and your entire day can be turned around in an instant. If you don’t date a comedian like I do, I recommend watching a funny movie, or if you don’t have time, watch a comical youtube video. Anything to get your mind back towards a positive way of thinking. After all, laughter is the best medicine.
So go into this week with a smile on your face, and if you see someone else having a rough week, try making them laugh. Who knows, maybe that’s all they really needed.
