Oh, how we miss Oahu! It is a place straight out of a dream and definitely our perfect spot because it has mountains and beaches!! So we could wake up go on a hike and then pick and amazing beach spot to relax. Perfection. Between all of our big adventures, we found a lot of great hideaways and secluded spots all around Oahu.

Here are some of our favorite little-known spots of Oahu!

Lanai Lookout

This is a fun quick adventure! It sounds complicated to get to but just do it!

Okay so drive to the Halona Blowhole, park… get out of car 🙂 Walk across the highway, climb over the guard rail… just do it! Walk down the hill, walk through this scary-looking hole in the mountain, again… just do it! And you find this hidden oasis of Oahu!

Not too much to do here, but it is a lot of fun to look at and watch the waves roll by. It’s a little slick in spots so just be cautious!

Alan Davis Beach

This was one of my favorite little hidden beach spots in Oahu. It is right by the Makapuu Trail, which was one hike we did not do… we’ll be back!

When you park for Makapuu instead of merging left to walk up the trail head right and go around the path, feels like you’re headed nowhere, promise it’s there!

You’ll come to this crystal clear water followed by the dreamy aqua blue sea, Oahu at it’s finest. It’s a great little secluded relaxation spot, with this fun little diving board.

And if you’re feeling adventurous… like we always are, head up to Pele’s chair and have yourself a little climb! We had lunch up there…

Papailoa Beach

You know it’s good when you through the locals for a loop! I think we only met one local that knew where this hidden Oahu spot was. It’s sometimes called Police Beach because there is a training facility there, but no one had heard of that either, we read that somewhere.

You can find it on Google Maps though, so someone knows about it! So you just go into the neighborhood it directs you to and there’s a little parking area with maybe 10 spots, we went 3 times and there was always parking available. You walk through this cute little narrow pathway…

And Ta-Da!

What a gorgeous beach walk!!! And an amazing place to catch a romantic sunset!

Oh and FUN FACT! LOST was filmed here. They moved from a more public spot in Oahu to here as the show grew in popularity. This was the survivors camp from Season 2 on. I am a HUGE LOST fanatic so we went looking for a lot of the filming locations in Oahu.

Makua Caves

DCIM101GOPRO

Just a fun little stop we made on the way to Kaena Point, Oahu! Walk around this massive cave and don’t think about what creatures you’re hanging with. Andrew tried to talk me into spelunking into the scary dark hole in the back… it didn’t work.
