“I haven’t been everywhere yet, but it’s on my list.”

The world. The whole world is a big place. Andrew and I are from Lexington, KY and I would say 85% of people from there don’t ever leave. Big city, small town feel. That’s how I always describe it, everyone is connected there; I’ve flown back and forth to Orlando 6 times now and every single time I have met someone on the plane with some connection to me back home. I love Lexington, I really do. It is a gorgeous city but the world is so much bigger than that and it is meant to be explored.

I have learned a lot this year: a lot about people, and a lot about stepping out of your comfort zone. I would not be where I am right now typing this post if it weren’t for me stepping outside of my comfort zone. Not only did I go completely out of character to get the man of my dreams, but I left behind everything I know to spend the month in a strange city, knowing only him. Was I scared to leave my friends, family and my job to do this? ABSOLUTELY. Was I worried that people wouldn’t understand and would shut me out? For sure. But then I found this quote, “do something everyday that scares you (Eleanor Roosevelt),” and that was it. I am now not only a stronger person; but our relationship is stronger, I have met new people along the way, and my job has brought so much joy to my life. I have also learned the bliss of being lost in a new city. There’s something so captivating about stumbling onto a spot that is truly breath taking.

So, we challenge you this year to step out of your comfort zone. Do something out of character, it may surprise you, and it may even spin your whole world in a new direction. And we will leave you with our bucket list. Lets hope we can see some things crossed off in this New Year. HAPPY NEW YEAR, make it the best!
